Neighbors’ Night

Dear Lord, Help us to be a house of love tonight.

Let us be your hands reaching out to a hurt child,

a needy child, a confused child, an unloved child,

a happy child, a sad child, a child whose only opportunity
to see your face might be through us tonight.

Amen.

Neighbors’ Night was launched in 1987 designed to reach out to the young neighbors of our church in downtown Geneva and share God’s love. Neighbors’ Night currently welcomes between 50 to 100 children in grades K-8 every Wednesday evening from October through May (5:15 pm-7:00 p.m.) Activities including storytelling, song, crafts, skits, games, and a full dinner.

Generous volunteers make this program a fun, safe, and loving environment. Led by Sue Adams, young adult volunteers come from Hobart and Williams Smith Colleges. Regular adult volunteers serve from St Peter’s parish, St Michael’s Orthodox Church, and other organizations visit throughout the year. God calls us to serve and love one another. Neighbor’s Night is one important way that St. Peter’s lives into this mission.
